Three years ago, both Rob and I were COETAILers in online Cohort 4. The professional growth we received, school-wide and global collaboration we were part of, and educational opportunities we offered our students made COETAIL an outstanding experience. So when the opportunity presented itself to go through the exhausting adventure again, I jumped at the opportunity.

So, in mid-June, I hid up stairs in my in-laws attic and… well… this:

So now that I’m in the club and at the start of the COETAIL2 road, where do I go next?

… I guess I should take the first step forward.

My first step forward is to reflect on where I’ve been. For those of you who didn’t know the “old” me, Access Angela was a place where the musings of this international educator lived. Access Angela was full of my blog reflections on teaching and learning with integrated technology and beyond.

The second step is to think about where I want to go. I’m 3 days in to my new recruitment season, 5 days in to my new COETAIL2 journey, and 12 days in to my new school year teaching a new grade level. I want to get a great new job and guide my own personal learning journey all while educating 22 beautiful souls in my 1st grade classroom. So rather than just run Access Angela as an online journal, I thought it was important that I evolve it into a broader marketing campaign for my family.

Leaping to step three, rebrand myself. My husband and I started our educational teaching careers, married life, and child rearing adventures in Nairobi, Kenya in 2001. It was a magical experience for so many reasons. Since then, we lived in South Africa (establishing our Africa 2.0 adventure) and the Middle East on 2 occasions (Kuwait and now, currently in Oman) sparking a Middle East 2.0 chapter in our lives. So as I began thinking of how to retire Access Angela it seemed only fitting that I relaunch as a 2.0 version of myself! Hence the creation of Langlands 2.0

I know that this COETAIL2 opportunity will mean even more meaningful learning engagements for my poppets. Additionally, the personal learning I do will help me inspire (and up-skill keen) colleagues while I continue to broaden my professional learning community around the world. For Langlands 2.0, my plan is to showcase the work I am most proud of.

So now I’m on to Step 4. Put one foot in front of the other and see where the adventure takes me!
